Our Roots Run Deep

Eaton’s roots in the community go back to 1937 when it was chartered by two local businessmen in Charlotte, MI as Charlotte Federal Savings and Loan Association. At first, our purpose was simple: To help local families buy a home and to give them a safe place to invest their savings. Nowadays, home financing is just one of the things we do.

Eaton Community Bank has grown over the years and is now in seven communities throughout mid-Michigan. Our services and solutions have expanded, but our commitment to the communities we serve has not. These aren’t just any markets to us. They are our homes.

A Customer-Owned Bank

Eaton Community Bank is organized in a private mutual holding company structure, similar to a cooperative. That means it’s owned by customers, not shareholders. When customers are owners, service takes on a whole new meaning. Eaton Community Bank cannot be converted to stock, bought by or merged into another institution without the consent of its customers. We are not subject to the whims or pressures of stockholders or the financial markets.

Our Leadership

The Bank is guided by a Board of Directors composed of local business persons and community leaders from throughout its footprint. The Board has installed an experienced, professional, and caring management team which oversees day to day operations. From the boardroom to the teller line, our leadership and employees strive to live out The Eaton Way each and every day.
